Yeongdeunggut is unique. ▶Farewell rite
:This is a special program, designed for guests of the Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut Preservation Society who wish to join the Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut Welcome and Farewell rites, providing an opportunity to experience and understand the Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut.

Date & Time: Thursday, 13th of March 2025 *Farewell rite: 10:00 - 19:00
Participants: Domestic and international visitors, travelers, local residents, and artists from both within and outside Jeju
Venue: Jeju-si Fisheries Cooperative Fish Market (West Pier)
Participation Fee: 20,000 KRW per person
How to Participate:
On February 14th of the lunar calendar, the day before the departure of the goddess Yeongdeung, the Yeongdeung Farewell rite is performed as a grand shamanic ‘gut’ throughout the day. This ritual gathers a large number of participants, including those involved in the fishing industry, Haenyeo (women divers) and other devotees. Pre-registered participants will have the unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Yeongdeunggut through explanations provided by the President of the Jeju Chilmeoridang Yeongdeunggut Preservation Association, while joining certain aspects of the Farewell rite for a more fully immersive experience.
The Farewell rite is a paid program, inviting participants to join a detailed schedule, guided by a designated host.
